Daniel DeWoskin, founder of DeWoskin Law Firm, LLC, has been practicing law since 2002. He is a graduate of Georgia State University College of Law and completed his undergraduate degree with the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. Prior to his admission to the Georgia Bar in 2003, Dan was trained and remains certified by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) as a law enforcement officer. His experience in the law enforcement side of criminal justice has served him well in his trial practice as a criminal defense attorney. Daniel DeWoskin volunteers his time as a coach at the Paidiea Mock Trial program, is a board member of the DeKalb Bar Association, a member of Leadership DeKalb and a member and Social Chair of the Decatur Rotary Club.
Alex joined the DeWoskin Law Firm in 2015 after four years prosecuting felony cases on behalf of the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office. As a trial attorney in the D.A.’s Office, Alex prosecuted hundreds of felony cases, including murders, armed robberies, child molestations, domestic violence cases, and drug trafficking cases, among others. Prior to working in the D.A.’s Office, Alex worked as an associate attorney at the private law firm Jones & Walden, where he focused his practice on bankruptcy and debtor-creditor litigation. Alex received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and his juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
Jill has been a paralegal with DeWoskin Law Firm since 2011. She is starting law school in 2015 and working toward her goal of becoming a practicing attorney. She realized her passion for law through a personal experience in which she successfully represented herself in a lawsuit. Jill volunteers as an assistant to the attorneys with the Debt Collection Education Clinic in Decatur, GA and is an active participant in the paralegal division of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. She has a background in computer sciences and enjoys designing websites in her free time.
Michelle joined the DeWoskin Law Firm in 2015. She has over 25 years of experience as a legal assistant with law firms in the Metro Atlanta area, in areas including general practice, creditor collection work, and creditor bankruptcy. Additionally, she worked for six months at a local school, at which she previously volunteered in the school’s library, utilizing her knowledge of conversational American Sign Language. Michelle also volunteers as an assistant with the Debt Education Clinic in Decatur, Georgia.
